Lucky You!!

This came from one of my dear IRL friends Hamaker Love.

Check it out!

Lucky you!

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

2. What I create will be just for you.

3. It'll be done this year. {might be a little while}

4. You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or maybe even some creation I haven't even invented yet (but Heaven knows it will most likely be super shiny or look like it got attacked by a bedazzler). I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!

*Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!*

Happy Accident indeed

In cleaning out my belongings and paring down to necessities, I came across this particular quote I happened to scratch down a little while ago. This former coworker is about as random as they come. Even more so than myself if you can imagine. During one of our last meetings he was side tracked and happened to say something which in essence I found to be one of the best accidental summations of New Moon I've ever heard.

"You know rain causes depression. Yeah that's why you got all those psychos jumping off cliffs in those states where it rains a lot."

No lie that's exactly what he said. Pretty sure I laughed harder than most at that remark, because of the double entendre I found in it, and also due to the fact that none of my other coworkers had ever read New Moon, to be sure.

Your Word is "Think"

You see life as an amazing mix of possibilities, ideas, and fascinations.

And sometimes you feel like you don't have enough time to take it all in.

You love learning. Whether you're in school or not, you're probably immersed in several subjects right now.

When you're not learning, you're busy reflecting. You think a lot about the people you know and the things you've experienced.

Skimmy Dipping 10

What’s in a name?

Apparently our favorite werewolf was named after a country singer, and his parent's loved the artist so much that they heeded his sage words of advice and encouraged their son to become a doctor instead.

J Waylon Black

The really ironic part of all this? He’s actually located in WA

More hilarity...side story...
When I was
looking up how far it is from Forks to Olympia...I came across two cities the first? Carlisle...no joke. The second? Humptul!p...no.joke. I about lost it. I even had to zoom in to make sure that I read that correctly. 8|

More weirdness...I used to watch this show all the time when I was a kid...no clue why or how, just did. This also probably explains quite a bit.

IMAX? Rocks MAX

The intent of IMAX is to dramatically increase the resolution of the image by using much larger film stock at a resolution comparable to about 10000 x 7000 pixels (70 megapixels). To do this, 70 mm film stock is run "sideways" through the cameras. While traditional 70 mm film has an image area that is 48.5 mm wide and 22.1 mm tall (for Todd-AO), in IMAX the image is 69.6 mm wide and 48.5 mm tall. In order to expose at standard film speed of 24 frames per second, three times as much film needs to move through the camera each second.

Translation: More vampy goodness per second...;D

Craziness & Silliness

So I read a headline the other day "Woman Who Was Shot in Leg Blames Her Stove" and I couldn’t help but go to read the story. (Curiosity kills this kity waay too often ;) ) It’s a little gruesome, but I’ll share with you.

You’ve been warned.

Woman says she was shot in the leg by her stove
A shell may have been in the newspapers she used to light the stove

SEKIU, Wash. - A woman said she was shot in the leg by her stove. Cory Davis told the Peninsula Daily News she had just stoked her cast-iron heating stove Sunday when she heard a loud bang and was struck in her left calf.

Davis said a case of shotgun shells spilled about a month ago at her home and one must have landed in the newspapers she used to light the stove.

She removed a metal fragment herself and was treated Monday at (...get this...)
Forks Community Hospital.

(I wonder if she was treated by the favorite doctor in town? Teehee ;) )

“Yes. I am a silly girl!” (Name that movie.)

Cuckoo For...

Here's what I did last weekend with some of my IRL girl friends.

Hey did you see the non-glitter crusted part on the lower left? Subtle huh?

Sorry the pics are so crappy, but I thought the design was funny/clever.

Hey that looks kinda like ketchup, except it doesn't taste like ketchup :P

I did the writing free form! I had fun, that's for sure. It definitely brings back old memories from days of yore when we did lots of crafty type stuff with puff paints.

Final Trailer!

I know that this won't be super exciting for everyone who stops in, but I'm a little stoked :D

*Updated: This is what I was looking for.

We're Going to Forks....Is That Somewhere Between Knife & Spoon?

OK So I couldn't help myself! This made me giggle too much not to share with the rest of you! :D

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?

I MET KLIN!
I MET LAUREN!
I MET NANCY FACE!

And several other wonderful girly bloggers last night the Queso-Cake Factory. I think Klin’s Mr. might have also earned a new moniker? But I’m not entirely sure about that one. Dinner was tasty and conversation was great. I have to say that Lauren looks something like the IRL version I pictured of Rosalie. Kinda funny. Don't believe me? Check out the pictures.

Glittersmama told me to say hi to Klin if she was there, and to my happy surprise she was! I’ve always enjoyed her comments on posts, and have to admit I hadn’t read her blog much…but I think I might be picking that one up on a more regular basis now.

The Face women are just as kind IRL as they are on their blogs, which makes events like this completely worth it. One of my favorite comments of the evening yesterday was said before everyone showed up; and the few of us who had arrived a little early were realizing that we were all there for the party. “I feel like it’s a blind date.” It was kind of that feeling of I’m excited to meet these people, but I really have no idea what they look like. haha.

It also helps that there was a lot of tasty food to go around. I’d never been to Cheesecake Factory before, and I will definitely be going again…but it probably won’t be any time soon it was ex$pen$ive, but that probably has more to do with the fact that I got two slices of the house special..."one for me and one for hee"

This kid has coined some of my favoritest expressions.

It's Official...

It took me 2.5 minutes to go from mildly happy to slightly depressed. One of my top visited blogs has gone MIA due to the power of ignunt people en masse. I'll miss this blog. It made me laugh and realize that I'm not the only person who tends to get overly preoccupied by fiction.

I can't think about not being able to see it every other day or so and how that will leave a void for excitement in my blog perusing it might deepen my sadness.

In other highly opinionated news. I think ignunt people should be forced to take charm and beauty lessons...kinda like this (it picks up at 1:55, not that the whole thing isn't good, but...you get my drift...)

It Is Finished

And I still don't know what to think. Yes, I loved the story. I about had a fit trying to tell those around me who had been able to read ahead to not say anything. This of course made me sort of hysterical and overly nervous in the process since I didn't know what was going to happen so in anticipation of the worst I bawled through one of the parts that was supposed to be the happiest. When I finally realized that things were taking a much more different direction, I was really happy.

It ended well, but I'm still unsure of what to think. Maybe I'm going through withdrawals already?

I WANT MORE! I do understand that all stories must come to an "end," but I'm not entirely sure that I'm ready to let go and say goodbye.

Excuse me while I go grab a tissue. I'm all verklempt!

Talk amongst yourselves.

I'll give you a topic.

Minutes To Midnight...

In trying to pass the time more constructively I was reading some articles about all the madness and came across one that took me by surprise. I had never really considered this particular aspect of the books before. Discuss amongst yourselves...

Skimmy Dipping Part II

Today's victim of my skimming

Gray Painter...huh? No not really, but the last name is Painter ;) teehee

I also saw an Edward and a Meyer...

Two Things...

Hopefully this won't be as long as my last post but two things related to the wedding trip.
1) on my way out there I sat next to this dude who writes reviews and was going to Comic-con with his buddy...no I didn't catch his name, but he asked me what I was reading (New Moon) and told me he was in a book store in Dallas when they were signing book covers/jackets...crazy! He knew some about the series but not the specifics, funny.

2) Saturday afternoon I got to watch a completed scene someone had pirated from Twilight, it's an expanded clip from the dance studio scene. WHICH BTW totally confirmed my sneaking suspicions about going to the midnight showing...too many screaming 12 year old girls I think for me to be able to fully enjoy the goodness.

Too bad I didn't get that dude's info so I could get the sweet hook ups...as in going to a sneak preview. That would be tasty!

Seriously...did I just say tasty? Who does that!?!?

Back to the Future or Numero Uno!

Today is a landmark.

The day I opened for business on this grand invention of Father Al's: Teh Internets. Translation: My blog was founded one year ago.

Picture it! 2007!

It was a warm June day, but you couldn't tell it from the thermostat setting.

I was wearing--

never mind what I was wearing. In my daily correspondence con GM she asked if I was busy. She told me to read this.

I didn't get drawn in right away, but I did peruse a little here and there.

Fast forward a few weeks and my sister sent me a link to the infamous post.

From there I was pretty much hooked. It's been an interesting year with blogging and discovering uncharted territory. I've had some bizarre themes that I've been through including blogging about my mid-afternoon sweet tooth,

and the hopscotch down memory lane leading up to my birthday.

But let's face it, who could forget David Bowie in a codpiece?

scared.for.life.

I can't really say that I've grown a lot or learned a lot except that the best way to tell a story is with visual aids. I can't even say that I've shared things of a truly profound nature. I have however read about many incidences where my fellow bloggy friends did made it through such things as this and that is why I keep coming back. Thank you for sharing your stories!

PS I still have something of a blogging inferiority complex.
