While reading this post and the ensuing comments, I had a train of thought which would be more appropriately expressed in a post, on my own blog.
What is it about weddings? It's almost like a class reunion of sorts or those other events where you rarely, if ever, see the people any more, but for some totally bizarre reason you want to look as good or even better than you did the last time you saw them. Could someone please explain this to me?

Easy. You're going to see people that you haven't seen for X amount of time. You obviously don't see them that often, so you want to leave them with the best impression of you possible.
Also, when you return to a group of people, I think it is difficult to not return to that same place in your life--everyone falling back into their cliques and forgetting that they've progressed at all beyond that particular point in their lives.
Gs mama got it. It's all about looking your best and representing yourself best so you leave a great impression because that's what will stick in their minds after the event is over.
You're right...all of you.
But, I'm still going to say that I think women (in particular) are hard on each other and really hard especially on ourselves.
It is liberating to put all that aside and just go and be yourself.
I do the same thing. And then I'm like "Why was I even WORRIED about what I looked like?? I'll never see those people again!!"
G's mama and my twin speaketh the truth.
"I'll never see those people again!"
Yeah, but now they all know how HOTT you are ;)
GM good point! Seriously...what do you think happens everytime we go home?
MW yeah, let's just hope I don't come out lookin all nastified... which reminds me I have some things to show you later today...
b.- Yes! I know she'll still love me anyway, and it doesn't matter so much what I look like what matters is that I am there for her.
Tori- true story I doubt I will see her or her family again any time soon. My only real concern is food in the teeth, and why aren't people nice enough to let you know. Nope, they let you walk around smiling all happy with some chunk of food clinging for dear life to your eye teeth...
Yes, HOTT is the goal, although at this point I'm thinking the closest I will come to accomplishing that is through my sweat glands.
And then they can say...yeah she was hott!
um, yeah--i can explain.
it's called vanity. and i have it in spades. even though i'm not that hot. or even a "cougar"--but i need approval.
i was just checking you out and i think you and i are gonna get along like a house on fire. you posted some funny stuff--me likey
Welcome to my humble commode Mindi!
The cougar remark made me think of some random commercial where this cheesy jewelry guy asks if you want a, "diamond studded cougar?"
Thanks!
