Teh News?

I'll be the first to admit that I am completely appalled by topics such as this. The mere mention of such things turns my stomach and I have to excuse myself from the situation.

I have a very strong emotional reaction to such things. Not that I've had the misfortune to experience such heinous violations, but none the less it still induces physical illness in me. Anyway I'm getting off track here.

What is cruel and unusual? Life without parole or having to live through a horribly traumatic experience that you truly never fully recover from, and most likely will be haunted by the memory of for the rest of your life?

I tend to be a little cruel and unusual in my personal remedy for such a situation...castration.

Although I'm not entirely sure how that would help a situation except to prevent further similar physical assualts...doesn't really fix the problem.

I just found it interesting that it was something that both candidates agreed upon.

but then again it also begs the question who are we to judge and how?

Ugh.
Cruel and unusual is what they did.
"They" being the bad guys >:(

Seriously! Those were my thoughts exactly when I saw the words in the article to describe invoking the death penalty on the guilty.

I don't know which is worse - but I do know that if you have gone through something traumatic like rape, then you can help console those who have gone through the same thing.

Okay, right now stop what you're doing and go look up the audio for Massachusetts Rep. James Fagan and what he said about introducing mandatory prison sentences for child rape in his state. He's also a trial lawyer and what he said yesterday will floor you!

Amazingly nobody has thrown this guy out of office in Mass. I don't know why. He said he would destroy the life of a child rape victim on the stand if he was representing the rapist. Quote: I will tear that child apart. I will destroy them at 6. Make them vomit at 8. Make them have nightmares at 12. And by the time they are 19 they will never have a relationship and their life will be ruined.

Nice guy, huh?

maybe Fagan would appreciate a bum screw....
sorry, but this is an extremely sensitive issue for me. How dare he?

As for the others, yeah...snip snip and an island by themselves.

ps. was that too harsh?

ewbl...I'm already vomitting, but that puts me about 20+ years past due... what azzhole...seriously who would vote for such a literal devil's advocate.

Since you gave such a lovely recap I think I skip the voma-licious full audio experience.

Congratulations you'd do anything to be a good lawyer to your client! How much did you get for your soul?

Jill there is that aspect, of being there for those who most unfortunately fell down the same path after 'you' have. I fully appreciate that, as there have been times when I wondered why I was going through a situation only to find out sometime later that I was able to empathize with someone and help them to figure things out.

b.- Well said. I would bet you that if Fag-boy was put in lock up after having been intro'd to the prisoners that way, he would be treated worse than the convicted rapists and molesters.

Definitely not too harsh, and I had never considered putting the eunich's on their own island... it would definitely be something to take into serious consideration. It would almost work like solitary. Let's get a little cruel and unusual. Deserted island type...in the middle of the Pacific or maybe just closer to the poles.
